Ready to build something exceptional from the ground up? Our brand-new outpatient surgical center is scheduled to open in the fall, and we're looking for a dynamic nursing leader to help shape the future from day one. This modern 6-room ambulatory surgery center will also feature an additional specialized procedure / nano suite designed for smaller minimally invasive procedures performed under local anesthesia. This is an exciting growth opportunity for a leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building teams and processes, and wants to play a key role in launching a brand-new facility.
Position Overview:
The Clinical Manager will provide leadership and oversight for all clinical operations within the ambulatory surgery center, including OR, Pre-Op, PACU, and Central Sterile Processing. This leader will play a critical role in launching the facility, building clinical workflows, supporting hiring efforts, and helping scale operations during the startup phase. Initial staffing will begin with approximately 20 team members, with significant growth anticipated as the facility expands.
Preferred Background / Requirements:
* Active RN licensure required
* BSN strongly preferred; Master's degree highly desired
* Minimum 2+ years of leadership experience in an inpatient or outpatient surgical environment
* Strong operating room (OR) experience required
* Previous ambulatory surgery center (ASC) experience strongly preferred
* Prior scrubbing experience highly preferred
* Pre-Op / PACU experience is a plus, but candidates must have OR experience
* Must be a flexible, hands-on leader comfortable wearing multiple hats in a startup / growth environment

Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations
* Provide strategic leadership, guidance, and direction aligned with the organization's mission, goals, and commitment to exceptional patient care.
* Oversee day-to-day clinical and operational nursing functions for the ambulatory surgery center.
* Serve as the operational clinical leader for the facility and act in the absence of the ASC Administrator when needed.
* Build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing clinical team that supports operational excellence, employee engagement, and outstanding patient outcomes.

Clinical Excellence & Patient Care
* Assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care delivered by a competent and engaged team.
* Partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of care and a positive patient experience across the surgical continuum.
* Promote evidence-based clinical practices and support initiatives that drive exceptional patient outcomes.
Patient Safety & Regulatory Compliance
* Champion a culture of patient safety, quality, and high reliability throughout the center.
* Lead First Do No Harm safety initiatives and foster an environment where team members feel empowered to identify and report safety concerns.
* Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, organizational policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations.
* Maintain emergency preparedness and promote a safe, clean, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.
Operational & Financial Stewardship
* Manage clinical staffing, labor operations, and resource allocation with a focus on efficiency, operational excellence, and fiscal responsibility.
* Oversee supply, medication, equipment, and inventory management to ensure operational readiness and uninterrupted patient care.
* Support cost-effective practices, reduce waste, and help drive responsible financial stewardship across clinical operations.
Performance Improvement & Quality
* Lead performance improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, patient safety, and quality outcomes.
* Evaluate workflows, processes, and clinical practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Integrate data, research, and evidence-based best practices to drive measurable results and sustain clinical excellence.
Problem Solving & Collaboration
* Investigate and resolve operational, patient, or team-related concerns in a timely and professional manner.
* Partner proactively with internal stakeholders, physicians, and senior leadership to solve challenges, improve processes, and support organizational success.
* Help shape the culture, workflows, and long-term success of a brand-new surgical center.
Qualifications:
* Education:
* 2 Year / Associate Degree, Required.
* 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, BSN preferred.
* Experience: 3 years in a healthcare setting required. Prior Ambulatory Surgical Center experience with leadership responsibility preferred.
* Licensure/Certification:
* Current RN licensure required.
* Additional Skills (required):
* Computer literacy, proficiency with Outlook, Word processing, PowerPoint, and Excel spreadsheets; able to independently use office equipment such as fax, copier and scanner; sufficiently proficient in medical equipment to guide the selection and bid process. Able to operate all appropriate clinical equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Able to perform the necessary functions on the center's computer systems. Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors and physicians. Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
* Strong background in patient centric care; Experience with facilitating education and training; Must have the ability to complete assignments required for State, Regulatory, Accreditation and other required organizations.
* Experience in leadership roles; Strong ethical and moral character references; Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication. Accuracy and attention to detail without compromise of patient care.
