One California Responsibilities: Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Lab Scientist to join our dynamic team in the Microbiology department. We are committed to providing high-quality patient care and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. * Perform a wide range of microbiological procedures, including: * Bacterial culture and identification * Antimicrobial susceptibility testing * Mycology and parasitology testing * Molecular diagnostics * Blood cultures * Quality control and instrument maintenance * Analyze and interpret laboratory results, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. * Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all procedures and results. * Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. * Participate in departmental quality assurance and improvement initiatives. * Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols. Qualifications: * BA/BS degree required. * Continuing education lectures and courses to keep knowledge current as required. * Must have experience reading different culture types and setting up cultures traditional and molecular-based. * Required training in * * Hematology * Chemistry * Blood Bank * Microbiology * Immunology and Serology as applicable. * California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Limited California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License * California Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License * California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist Licenses are required and ASCP registry is preferred. * LA Fire card is required. (Must obtain within 90 days of hire date. Classes offered at the hospital)
