POSITION SUMMARY:

Healthy Kids U is the only multi-disciplinary pediatric obesity care program outside of Chicago in the state of Illinois. The Healthy Kids U team ensures that they build strong relationships with patients and families by way of regular and substantive visits.

The dietician is responsible for assessing nutritional status of patients based on their individualized needs and goals. They develop and implement corresponding nutrition care plans for patients. They evaluate current nutrition status, formulate interventions, reassess for change, and record ongoing nutritional progress. They educate the patients support system to ensure patient-centered care is achieved. 

A Clinical Dietitian is an expert in human nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. The Clinical Dietitian assesses nutritional status of patients based on their individualized needs and goals and develops and implements corresponding nutrition care plans. The role of the Clinical Dietitian is to evaluate current nutrition status, formulate interventions, reassess for changes and record ongoing nutritional progress. The Clinical Dietitian is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, and helping patients and their support system to ensure patient-centered care is achieved.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 

Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food Science or Nutrition

Credentialed Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian eligible through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (Illinois and Michigan) or must become registered within 6 months of hire.

Basic Microsoft application proficiency

Experience: 

Previous experience with patients in a group or individual setting

Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing

Licensure/Certifications:

Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist eligible (Illinois)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Licensure/Certifications: 

License Certified diabetes educator

Other skills/knowledge:

1 year experience working with patients in a group or individual setting
