The Dietician is responsible for assessing patient's dietary needs through interviews, assessment and collaboration with other care team members. The Dietician supports the dietary department and oversees nutritional composition, food preparation and menu planning.

Responsibilities:

* 1. Adoption of diet manual that meets the needs and nutritional requirements of the patient population served
Educates and advises staff on nutritional needs and means of cooking to preserve content
* 2. Oversees sanitation and cleanliness of the department
* 3. Conducts assessments of new patients and or those who have had a functional change
* 4. Documents legibly within the medical record Communicates patient needs to all levels of staff
Communicates patient needs to all levels of staff
* 5. Advises administration on quality improvement processes
* 6. Observes meal service (all meals)
* 7. Conducts in service education for all levels of direct care staff
* 8. Assesses quality of raw product and recommends substitution
* 9. Reviews quality systems of the department
* 10. Meets regularly with the Food Service Supervisor
* 11. Maintains State licensure/certification.
Alerts management or security of safety issues
* 12. Wears designated uniform and adheres to dress code
* 13. Uses proper phone etiquette for both internal and external calls
* 14. Completes additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

bachelors degree

EXPERIENCE

state licensed as dietician
