At Select Medical's Critical Illness Recovery Hospitals, you are caring for the most vulnerable patients in your community. Here, you will care for chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care. Our RNs play an essential role in providing compassionate care and clinical treatment every step of the way.

Responsibilities:

The Clinical Coordinator is under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer. The primary purpose of the Clinical Coordinator is to administer and supervise the clinical care being provided. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for all safety, infection control, and quality of care issues that might arise while on duty. The position also assists with performance appraisals, mentoring staff during orientation, and dealing with disciplinary issues. 

Responsibilities

* Initiates an on-going systematic assessment of the physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs of the patients/families through interview, observation, and physical examination. Receives admissions and/or transfers to the unit.  Completes nursing database within 24 hours.
* Initiates an on-going systematic assessment of the physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs of the patients/families through interview, observation, and physical examination. Receives admissions and/or transfers to the unit.  Completes nursing database within 24 hours.
* Teaches and counsels patients/families, and makes referrals to appropriate resource personnel when needed.  Demonstrates documentation for functional training visit.  Documents patient, family, and significant other teaching.
* Assures that medication/I.V. administration is correct and according to the established nursing policies and procedures.  Looks up unfamiliar medications.  Administers medications as ordered.  Evaluates effectiveness of PRN medications.  Verbalizes process for self-administered medications.  Verbalizes patient education on identified medications.  Verbalizes standing orders.  Verbalizes policy and procedure for maintenance and care of central line catheters.  Identifies critical drip medications; able to locate critical drip policies and administers according to policies after completing critical drip competency training.  Regulates drip rates as ordered.  Administers I.V. drugs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: 

* Valid State RN License.
* Current BLS and ACLS.
* Minimum of 1 year experience as a Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
* Current with all required education in Select University.
* Annual review reflects excellence in job performance.
* Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action in HR file.
