Responsibilities:
As our Clinic Paramedic you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed health care practitioner. This role is essential for maintaining patient well-being and safety within our clinic environment. We are seeking dedicated professionals passionate about direct patient engagement across all age groups, from infancy to later life, within the Mercy-Corning Hospital system.
Every day you will engage in critical patient care tasks, including greeting and preparing patients, conducting vital sign assessments, compiling comprehensive medical histories, and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis. You will also be responsible for administering medications and vaccines, maintaining sterile and stocked exam rooms, and ensuring all safety checklists and quality controls are meticulously completed. Your ability to promptly escalate non-routine issues and maintain a high standard of care will be a crucial component of your daily responsibilities.
To be successful in this role, you will need a High School Graduate or GED, completion of a state-approved Paramedic training program, and current certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P:IA) and Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR), both required upon hire. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, the ability to follow intricate instructions, analyze data, and effectively manage workloads. Excellent communication, professionalism, and adherence to all compliance standards, including patient confidentiality and ethical guidelines, are paramount for thriving in this dynamic healthcare setting.
* Provide Direct Patient Care: Perform general patient care following clinic workflows, including patient intake (vitals, medical history, screenings), preparing patients for providers, and delivering ordered medications or vaccines.
* Specimen Collection & Preparation: Collect and prepare laboratory specimens as ordered.
* Maintain Clinical Environment: Ensure patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, orderly, and instruments are cleaned/sterilized.
* Safety & Quality Assurance:Complete safety checklists, quality controls, and escalate non-routine issues.
* Effective Communication & Compliance: Maintain professional communication with colleagues and patients, and adhere to all healthcare laws, regulations, and facility policies.
We are offering up to $5,000 as a Sign-on Bonus as well as up to $5,000 in Educational Assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
