Job Summary:

The Primary Teacher will predominantly be working with one or two classes as the main classroom teacher, as well as teaching English as an additional language. Specialist Chinese 
teachers will be responsible for teaching Maths, Chinese and some other subjects. Specialty 
in teaching a subject such as Art, PE, Music or Drama would be an advantage. The students are a healthy mixture of Chinese and other nationalities. Our teaching and assessment is planned around a blended British and Chinese national curriculum.

English Teacher (Primary) Job Description

*You have the ability to analyse problems, reach sound conclusions and resolve issues effectively.
*You have a proven capacity to respond to changing needs with vision, and to translate vision into practical reality. 
  *You have a strong commitment to quality and sharing best practices in learning and
teaching.
  *You have a mature understanding of the need for a pastoral infrastructure which supports both academic progress and the development of life skills in young people.
  *You have a working knowledge and understanding of planning and reporting and using information and communication technology to enhance teaching and learning, leadership and management.
*You have an interest in and willingness to engage Chinese contemporary culture; knowledge of Mandarin is a plus. You enjoy working under pressure in a fast paced environment. 
  *You are optimistic, resilient, and has a well-developed sense of proportion and humour.

Other Responsibilities

  *Represents the school to the student and parent community and plays a key role in marketing the schools and programmes, including educational events.
  *Organises and participates in visits, excursions and enrichment activities outside the classroom.
  *Contributes to events within the school community.
  *Other duties, as may reasonably be required by a line manager in agreement with the Headteacher. 

The post-holder will fulfill the following criteria:

Experience:

  *The delivery of ELA to primary aged students.
  *Teaching in a mixed-ability classroom.
  *Familiarity with the British National Curriculum 
  *Knowledge of recent developments in teaching and learning 
  *A proven track-record of success in the classroom and in the performing arts area.

Qualifications or Training:
  *Qualified Teacher Status 
  *Graduate 
  *Two years teaching the British National Curriculum is preferred

Practical Skills:

  *The delivery of English predominantly to non-native speakers.
  *The management of resources. 
  *Ability to teach other subjects may be an advantage.
  *Ability to organise after-school and extra-curricular activities 
  *Ability to motivate students who come from a range of cultures and backgrounds.
  *Ability to simplify instructions and commands in English, and to allow students time to reflect (in English) on their own performance.

Personal Qualities & Attributes:

  *A commitment to challenging students to reach the highest possible standards.
  *You should be an active learner and a reflective practitioner.
  *Good communication skills.
  *An effective team player.
  *Able to learn from other staff members, as well as being able to share your own best practice with other team members. 
  *Experience of living and working in a foreign country would be an advantage.
  *Well-organised and administratively efficient.
  *Professional, well-spoken and smartly-dressed.

Qualifications:

  *Bachelor's degree or higher
  *Native speaker of English, preferably from the UK. Native speakers from Canada, the US,       Australia, New Zealand and South Africa will also be considered.
  *In good physical and mental health
  *A clean criminal record
  *TEFL/TESOL or a CELTA is preferred 
  *Must be able to arrive in China no later than August 15, 2015
  *Must be able to commit to a two-year contract

Benefits Package: Besides airfare allowance, relocation fee and housing allowance for teachers, we also provide the following:
