As our new Citrix VDI Engineer, you will work within the client's ITSM environment and follow ITIL processes to ensure efficient and reliable IT infrastructure operations. In this role, you'll handle incidents, manage changes and service requests, resolve technical problems, and perform ongoing system maintenance as part of our managed service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* VDI Deployment & Infrastructure Management: Deploy and configure Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) on XenServer hosts
* Image Management & Automation: Create, update, and deploy master (golden) images for non-persistent and persistent VDIs, using Machine Creation Services (MCS)
* Software Deployment: Application installation, updates using tools like PowerShell, MECM
* Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune XenServer pools and VDI sessions to ensure optimal user experience and resource utilization
* Troubleshooting & Support: Act as a Tier 3 support agent for complex VDI issues, including profile management (FSLogix) and application failures
* Security & Compliance: Harden virtual machines, apply security patches to OS/applications, and implement Group Policies (GPO) to secure the environment
* Documentation: Maintain up-to-date High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, as well as operational procedures
Qualifications:
* Citrix Technologies: Expert knowledge of CVAD, Citrix Cloud Studio, Director, Machine Creation Services (MCS), and StoreFront
* Hypervisor Expertise: Hands‑on experience with Citrix XenServer/XenServer 8 or Citrix Hypervisor, including pool management and advanced troubleshooting
* Windows & Linux Client OS: Strong understanding of Windows 11, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs, plus experience with RHEL and Citrix VDA
* Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell for automating image updates, software deployment, and operational tasks
* Profile Management: Experience with Citrix Profile Management and/or FSLogix
* Networking: Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs) and NetScaler (ADC) for ICA traffic optimization and delivery
* Fluency in German is considered an advantage
