				Overview:

Responsible for providing a warm, safe, and nurturing learning experience for the children at the childcare center while communicating the goals, guidelines, and standards of the center. All team members are required to comply, maintain, and enforce the rules and regulations of the North Carolina Division of Child Development as well as all Health Department sanitation requirements.

Qualifications:

* Education: Associates Degree Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Associates degree in Early Childhood Education (related field) or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Workforce Education unit, Required. Graduation from a four-year program in as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Workforce Education unit, Preferred.
* Experience Required: One year verifiable experience in a child care center, or years of experience working with children up to 12 years of age required.  
* Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: NC Credentials EDU 119 or the equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit required. BSAC for school age children/summer camp. CDL license (if hired for driving buses) required. CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire required. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) within 2 months of hire ( infants up to 2 years of age) required. 
* Additional Skills Required:  
* DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter (required renewal every 3 years), and Workforce Education or education verification.
* Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
* BSAC required for those working with school age children.
* CPR/First Aid completion within 2 months of hire.
* ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training) for teachers work in the classroom infants up to 2 years of age within 2 months of hire.

*  Additional Skills Preferred: Playground safety training.
