Responsibilities:

* Provide a warm, safe, and nurturing learning experience that supports each child's unique development
* Uphold the center's goals, guidelines, and high standards of care
* Ensure full compliance with North Carolina Division of Child Development regulations and Health Department sanitation requirements
* Foster a positive and inclusive environment where children, families, and team members feel valued and supported

Qualifications:

* Education:  Two year Associates Degree Required. AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Education unit.
* Experience Required: Minimum of 2-year verifiable experience in a childcare center, or years of experience working with children up to 12 years of age.
* Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: NC Credentials EDU 119 or the equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit. BSAC for school age children/summer camp. CDL license (if hired for driving buses). CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) within 2 months of hire ( infants up to 2 years of age). Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096.
* Additional Skills Required:  
* DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter (required renewal every 3 years), and Workforce Education or education verification.
* Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
* BSAC required for those working with school age children.
* CPR/First Aid completion within 2 months of hire.
* ITS SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome training) for teachers work in the classroom infants up to 2 years of age within 2 months of hire.

*  Additional Skills Preferred: Playground safety training.
