Overview:
**This position will be physically located in Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP**
The Chief Medical Officer provides oversight, leadership, and clinical guidance for all medical operations in the facility. Responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient medical service delivery, the Medical Director functions as the senior medical authority, coordinating clinical, administrative, and operational activities.
Responsibilities:

* Provide executive leadership and oversight for all medical operations, including clinical services, patient safety, quality assurance, and risk management.
* Develop, implement, and enforce medical policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with national, military, and local standards.
* Ensure credentialing, licensing, and continuing education requirements for all healthcare personnel are maintained.
* Advise leadership on clinical and administrative matters, including patient care strategies and medical readiness.
* Oversee facility-wide patient care, clinical operations, and integration of services across medical, nursing, and allied health teams.
* Monitor and improve clinical performance, workflow, and operational efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and ethical/medical practice standards.
* Serve as the primary liaison with military, government, and civilian health authorities as required.
* Respond to medical emergencies and provide direct clinical oversight when needed.
* Some on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications:
* Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
* Education/Experience Requirements
* Graduate of an approved medical school and completion of a residency or fellowship in the United States or Canada, resulting in a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.
* Alternatively, graduates of foreign medical schools must demonstrate substantially equivalent education through permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) or equivalent.
* Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of clinical and administrative experience in the past 10 years.
* Licensure / Registration:
* Current, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state, DC, Puerto Rico, or territory.
* Active DEA registration number.
* Certification:
* Board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required and maintained.
* Additional Requirements:
* Maintain licensure, DEA registration, board certification, and ACLS certification for the duration of employment.
* Meet all security, medical, credentialing, and deployment requirements.
* Skills:
* Expertise in clinical care delivery and healthcare administration.
* Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and credentialing requirements.
* Strong leadership, decision-making, and team collaboration skills.
* Ability to operate in deployed, austere, or resource-limited medical environments.
* Proficiency in electronic medical records, medical reporting, and quality improvement initiatives
* Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
* The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
* The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level.
* The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
* The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
* Physical Requirements:
* Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
* Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
