Responsibilities:

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing overall leadership for our two critical access hospital affiliate organizations both nestled in the northwest corner of Kansas. Goodland Regional Medical Center, in Goodland Kansas and Rawlins County Health Center, in Atwood Kansas are both vibrant agricultural communities with deep roots in the rural lifestyle and legacy providers of high quality rural healthcare. Goodland serves a county with a population of 6,000 that has a technical college, five parks, and museums. Atwood is the county seat of Rawlins County and is a rural frontier community steeped in agriculture and farming industries, home to the county fair, an opera house and a lake. The CEO is responsible for carrying out strategies for the delivery of patient care and other matters as defined by the Board of Directors at each hospital, the management contract, and CommonSpirit Health. This is an incredible opportunity to lead two hospitals who boast strong financials, experienced Boards and strong support from their respective communities. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Responsible for representing affiliate organization with the local health system board, medical staff and community, ensuring and promoting strong public relations and rapport with the community. Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians, patients, residents, visitors, staff, and the broader health care community.    
* Plans, organizes, directs, and monitors the activities of all departments/service areas of the health system. Provides leadership for team building and continuous quality improvement.
* Responsible for the health system operating budget and capital expenditure plan. Oversees all construction, building and remodeling projects; understands and works with all possible financing options.
* In collaboration with the local health system board and the region, develops strategic plan to enhance viability of the health system. Meets with department managers/supervisors to share ideas, develop goals, present pertinent information, engage in problem solving, and encourage creativity, responsibility and accountability.
* Assures adequate staffing levels are maintained to provide services that meet the needs of patients, as feasible at the local level.
* Assures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

* Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field; Master's degree preferred
* Master's degree 
* Minimum of six (6) years of experience in healthcare, including a senior level (VP or above) healthcare leadership role for a minimum of three (3) years
* Progressive provider relationship management and collaboration experience
* Construction management, fund-raising, and experience in similar markets
* Critical Access Hospital experience within a large health system, preferred
* Fellow American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), preferred
