Responsibilities:
**This position receives a lead premium of $3.25 /Hour on top of the hourly rate.**
* Oversees unit nursing operations during assigned shift(s): Facilitates efficient admission, discharge and transfer of residents. Provides skill development and competency assessment for staff. On an on-going basis, assesses and, as necessary, corrects performance of staff.; provides input into staff performance evaluations. Consistently solves problems in an effective manner.
* Resource Allocation: Delegates tasks based on efficient delivery requirements and maintains a level of oversight appropriate to the delegated task. Assigns and changes priorities within the work unit to ensure provision of exceptional quality and service. Anticipates comprehensive needs on a day-to-day basis; participates in coordination of patient flow, such as relieving staff if needed so they can take breaks.
* Leadership: Orients new staff and serves as a clinical resource. Successfully establishes effective working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary care team. Shares appropriate information with all members of the care team, including support staff, in a manner appropriate and timely for the patient's condition. Responds proactively to change and demonstrates flexibility in meeting work unit needs. Works with the BBH Nursing Manager to identify, develop and implement unit goals, Lean initiatives and standard work, and to plan for staff recruitment and retention.
* Provides direct patient care. Performs ongoing assessment of the following domains: physio-biological, emotional, spiritual, social, dying and end of life care. Provides ongoing assessment of functional status. Evaluates/documents response of patients/families to therapeutic intervention; revises care plans and/or provides referrals accordingly. Practices nursing by consistently being accountable for coordination of care.

Qualifications:
* Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Washington required. CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.
* One year clinical experience in a long-term care/nursing home or acute care setting required.
* Demonstrated skill in prioritizing the demands of daily operations and organizing required resources.
* Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, preferred.
* Experience in HIV/AIDS nursing preferred. Experience in a lead/charge capacity desirable.
