Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center is hiring an Emergency Department Charge Nurse!
Shift: 7pm-7am
Status: Full Time
Location: Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center - 1000 Medical Center Dr., Hardeeville, South Carolina 29927
The ED at Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center is a 16 bed unit that averages 60-70 patients/day! We are committed to helping our community stay healthy and lead an active lifestyle. Responsibilities:
Key Duties:
* Lead and coordinate all daily clinical and operational activities within the Emergency Department, ensuring efficient patient throughput and resource utilization.
* Manage real-time patient flow and bed assignments, continuously balancing staff workload with patient acuity, volume, and unit capacity.
* Serve as the primary clinical resource and shift supervisor for all ED nursing staff, technicians, and ancillary support personnel.
* Provide expert clinical oversight and intervention during emergent and critical patient care situations, including trauma resuscitation, code situations, and complex stabilization.
* Monitor and ensure staff adherence to all established critical care pathways and quality metrics.
Qualifications:
* Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
* Experience: One year Clinical Experience, required
* Licensure/Certification: Current unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina, required. Current BCLS and ACLS certifications; PALS is recommended, required. Current PALS, preferred. Advanced certification in specialty field and/or participation in professional organization(s), preferred.
