As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech you will:

* Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. 
* Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
* Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.

Day to Day duties: 

* Scrub on all cases.
* Primarily, Gen (Open/Laparoscopic/endoscopic), Ortho (Trauma/ Totals/Sports Med), OB/GYN (Open, Laparoscopic and C-Sections), Trauma. 
* No dedicated service line teams. Associates are cross trained for all services. 
* Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
*  Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day's cases. 
* Maintaining Sterile field during procedures. 
* Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon's needs. 
* Maintaining and updating preference cards.

3 OR Suites, 1 Endo Room, 1 OB/C-Section suite.

Approx. 75-85+ Cases per month

Schedule: PRN-Variable per surgical volume and current needs of unit- 

PRN per policy is 5 shifts within a six week schedule block.

15% PRN Differential applies to Base Pay!!

Call Required: Average 3-5 call shifts. Generally weekend Call Fri- Sun. Per 6 week schedule block 

30Min Call back radius required

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: 

* Basic Computer skills required.
* One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
* Experience in a specialty field preferred.
* HS Diploma/GED required
* Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required
* BLS from the American Heart Association required
* Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech required
* Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required

Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
