Overview: This position is to hire for a PRN Pharmacy Technician to work at Pavillion Pharmacy located at OSF St. Anthony Center. Hiring for PRN to help assist with coverage in the pharmacy as needed, when pharmacy tech staff are out sick, taking time off or on leave. The PRN Pharmacy Technician must be flexible with working scheduled hours during the week and weekend. Must be flexible in covering last minute. The pharmacy is open 9:00am-7:00pm Monday-Friday; 9:00am-5:00pm Saturday and Sunday. POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for assisting Pharmacists in processing provider medication orders utilizing prescribed procedures under the supervision of a Pharmacist. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties. Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/ GED, At least 18 years of age Licensure/ Certification: PHTC-Pharmacy Tech, PHCT2 - Pharmacy Tech Certification, Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer Certification, or Active Pharmacy student with Pharmacy Technician (PHTC) student license Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 1 year pharmacy experience Other Skills/ Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Demonstrates ability to perform and apply arithmetic calculations. Intermediate computer skills. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
