Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for Hand Therapy

Calling local certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA) looking for per diem hours! Check out Select Physical Therapy in Brandon, FL! We are seeking per diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants with one year of experience in hands preferred or new graduate with fieldwork hand experience.  COTA will treat various upper extremity disorders ranging from tendon injuries, sprains-strains, post- operative fractures, etc. Our population is primarily orthopedic injuries with referrals from hand and orthopedic surgeons. Being bilingual in Spanish is a PLUS!

Best practices and evidence-based programs are utilized for individualized patient care. You will work closely with a (large) group of CHTs, working together in the region for support, education and schedule coverage. Our clinics are fully equipped to provide care to patients ranging from post-surgical, non-operative to work conditioning. You will have the opportunity to work closely with excellent hand surgeons. Hours Needed: As Needed Mon - Fri

Compensation: $25/hr

Responsibilities:

* Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
* Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
* Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
* Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals
* Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
* Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies

Qualifications:

* Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
* National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED
* Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
* Valid state driver's license
