				Overview:

St. Luke's Nampa OBGYN Clinic is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our highly collaborative team. This flex position offers the opportunity to work alongside a supportive group of four CNMs with OBGYN physician oversight, delivering exceptional obstetrical and gynecological care. The ideal candidate will provide both clinic and call support, ensuring high-quality women's health care to include Obstetrical care, including antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum care, as well as general gynecological services. This position includes both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, contributing to a dynamic and compassionate care environment.

What to Expect:

* 2 weekday 24-hour shifts per month - (combination of clinic, restricted and pager hospital call)
* 1 full weekend shift per month (combination of restricted and pager hospital call)

Responsibilities:

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is an advanced practice registered nurse who practices in accordance with standards established by the American College of Nurse Midwives Certifying Council or the American College of Nurse Midwives. Certified nurse midwives who meet qualifying requirements and are licensed by the Board. To manage women's health care, focusing on pregnancy, childbirth, the post partum period, care of the newborn and reproductive and gynecological needs of well women as defined by the certified nurse midwife's scope of practice. The scope of practice of an authorized certified nurse midwife may include prescribing and dispensing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic agents. The major role functions of the CNM will include clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, education, and research. As an advanced practice nursing position, this position falls under the review and oversight of the St Luke's Chief Nursing Officer.

* Admit and discharge in noncritical care areas low-risk patients whose medical history, surgical history, past obstetrical history and present health status reveal no conditions that would adversely affect the normal labor and delivery process patients whose present condition currently or potentially requires no further medical diagnostic work-up or intervention (i.e., a definitive diagnosis exists and the therapeutic regimen is established).

* Midwifery care is primarily intended for healthy women/infants. When medical or obstetric complications arise the CNM can continue to be instrumental in the care of higher risk clients. 

Collaboration provides for the following patterns of care:

* Consultation: The process whereby a CNM who maintains primary management responsibility for the woman's care seeks the advice or opinion of a physician.

* Collaboration: The process whereby a CNM and physician jointly manage the care of a woman or newborn that has become medically or obstetrically complicated. The scope of collaboration may extend from ongoing consultation to assumption of a dominant role by the physician in caring for the patient, including delivery. When the physician must assume a dominant role in the care of the patient due to increased risk status, the CNM may continue to participate in physical care, delivery, counseling, guidance, teaching and support. Effective communication between the CNM and physician is essential for ongoing collaborative management.

* Referral: The process by which the CNM directs the patient to a physician or another health care professional for primary management of a particular problem or aspect of the patient's care.

* Specific conditions listed in Certified Nurse Midwife core privileges.

* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

* Licensed professional nurse who has earned a graduate degree from a nationally accredited nurse midwifery program, with a concentration in the advanced practice nursing role and specialty, and passing results on the certification examination for Certified Nurse Midwife recognized by the Idaho Board of Nursing.
* Current RN, APRN and controlled substance licensure from Idaho. Current, unrestricted DEA certificate.
