As a nonprofit organization, we are solely committed to supporting people with special needs and their families, to help make it One World. For Everyone. Bancroft is currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our team in Mt. Laurel, NJ 

Responsibilities:

The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible to work collaboratively with the Physicians and Clinical Specialists to support patient needs in the growing neurological and psychiatry practice. The role focuses on delivering excellence in clinical care with emphasis on adaptable communication skills to meet the patient's and/or caregiver's level of understanding. Cultivates patient engagement. Flexibility with scheduling is a must. Hours will be deemed upon clinical staff schedule.

* Maintains exceptional patient and staff relations to optimize workflow efficiency.

* Performs patient triage, collects vitals, obtains medical history, records current medications and prepares patient for examination.

* Maintains patient's records by appropriately documenting in EMR.

* Properly handles medications and medication refills as directed by a physician.

* Provides patient education as needed.

* Secures insurance authorizations as needed for specialty medications/procedures in a timely manner..

* Demonstrates proper use and handling of medical equipment.

* Cleans, disinfects and maintains organization in all patient care/work areas.

* Manages patient telephone calls and physician/clinical staff paperwork.

* Promotes an environment of teamwork, customer service and positive communication.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience: 
High School Diploma or equivalent, graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program, and State of New Jersey Medical Assistant Certification required. Prior Neurology experience preferred.

Special Skills: 
Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks; Excellent customer service skills; Flexible and able to fill different roles as needed; High quality clinical skills and proficient computer skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form required. Effective interpersonal skills, a strong desire to work with developmentally-disabled individuals, and the ability to implement crisis intervention techniques required. Operative knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel spreadsheets preferred. Attainment of First Aid, Crisis Prevention and Intervention, and Medication certification within first 90 days of employment required. Valid driver's license required in incumbent's legal name and current address with no provisional restrictions. As well as one year minimum of driving experience with the required license. Minimum 18 years of age required.
