Responsibilities:

As our Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care and make critical assessments! You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

Expectations:

* Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
* Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
* Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
* Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
* Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

***CHI Health requires that ALL Medical Assistants / Certified Medical Assistants MUST be a graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)

Qualifications:

Required:

* Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
* Current/valid nationally recognized certification, registration or recognition for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA)
* Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid 
* Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
