CHI Health has an immediate need to add a Certified Medical Assistant / Medical Assistant (NOT Med Aide / CNA) to our General Surgery clinic located at our CUMC-Bergan campus off of 77th & Mercy! Our full-service network provides a variety of Primary Care & Priority Care Services, including Family, Internal, Geriatric, and Pediatric Medicine, in addition to several specialties to deliver custom care based on the unique needs of our patients. They also play a huge role in a patient's experience and prep when they visit any of our clinics. We couldn't do it without you! Expectations: * Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows. * Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows. * Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reason for visit. * Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis. * Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients. * Cleans and sterilizes instruments. * Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly. * Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely and appropriately. * Ensures safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required and necessary action taken if indicated. * Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: * Graduate of medical assisting program * Current/valid nationally recognized certification, registration or recognition for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA) * Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid * Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association * High school diploma or equivalent
