Position: Certified Medical Assistant
Location: Mt Airy, NC
Department: Family Medicine Clinic
Employment Type: Full-Time / Mon-Fri / 8:00am-5:00pm/ No Weekends, No Holidays
About the Role:
Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate and assist healthcare providers in delivering safe, quality, and cost-effective care to our diverse patient population. Responsibilities:
What You'll be doing:
* Coordinate and assist providers in delivering healthcare services.
* Assist providers during exams and procedures
* Take vital signs, obtain medical histories
* Assist with patient form request ie FMLA or other needed forms.
* Prepare patients and exam rooms for treatment
* Ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective care for patients.
* Foster a safe patient environment driven by the principles of "First Do No Harm."
* Engage in teamwork and community involvement to enhance patient care.
What we're looking for:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
* Medical Assistant Program: Graduate from an accredited program including pharmacology and medication administration.
* Certification: Current certification as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
* Experience: Previous work in a Medical Office is preferred but not required.
* Skills: Ability to successfully complete skills validation and competency testing.
* Language: Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:
Education: High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
* CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
* CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
* RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
* American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
* National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
* National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
* American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required

Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required
Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
