Novant Health Steelecroft Primary Care is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant. The CMA is coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
Responsibilities:
* Partner with providers to deliver outstanding patient care and support efficient clinic operations.
* Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic medical records.
* Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice, including injections, immunizations, medication administration, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection.
* Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely, efficient visits while maintaining a positive patient experience.
* Assist with prescription refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
Education: High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
* CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
* CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
* RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
* American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
* National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
* National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
* American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required

Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required
Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
