Novant Health Sleep Medicine - Ballantyne is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant!
The role of the Certified Medical Assistant is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include:
* Patient Rooming: Efficiently prepare exam rooms and escort patients for timely appointments.
* Inbox Management: Manage electronic in-baskets, including sending messages to providers and patients, processing prescription refills, and responding promptly to inquiries.
* Order Reviews: Verify and process provider orders to maintain accuracy and compliance.
* Collaborative Support: Work closely with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations and deliver exceptional patient care in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
* CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
* CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
* RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
* American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
* National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
* National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
* American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required.
* Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required. Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096.
* Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
