Overview:
**This position will be physically located in Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP**
The Flight Nurse provides advanced in-flight nursing care for critically ill or injured patients during aeromedical evacuation and transport missions. Responsibilities include patient assessment, stabilization, monitoring, and coordination with the flight crew and medical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in air transport environments.

* Provide advanced nursing care and monitoring for patients during aeromedical transport.
* Perform rapid assessment, stabilization, and interventions for critically ill or injured patients.
* Administer medications, IV fluids, and advanced interventions according to protocols.
* Operate and monitor medical equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, and airway devices.
* Respond to in-flight emergencies, including cardiac, respiratory, and trauma-related crises.
* Document patient care, interventions, and observations accurately in compliance with regulatory and MTF guidelines.
* Collaborate with flight crew, paramedics, and receiving facilities to ensure seamless patient handoff and care continuity.
* Maintain readiness of medical equipment, supplies, and medications for flight missions.
* Participate in continuous education, flight drills, and readiness training for deployed and operational environments.
* Some on-call responsibilities.
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
* Education:
* Graduate of an accredited Associate, Diploma, or Baccalaureate degree program in Nursing (ADN/BSN).
* Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in at least one U.S. state, DC, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
* Experience:
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered nurse in critical care, emergency, trauma, or intensive care settings.
* Flight or aeromedical experience preferred but not required.
* Licensure / Registration:
* Current, active, unrestricted RN license.
* Certification:
* Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
* Critical Care Transport (CCT), Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), or equivalent certification preferred.
* Additional Requirements
* Maintain licensure and certifications (BCLS, ACLS, PALS, CFRN/CCT if applicable) for the duration of employment.
* Meet all medical, credentialing, security, and deployment requirements.
* Ability to provide high-quality patient care in deployed, austere, or resource-limited environments.
* Skills:
* Proficiency in critical care, trauma, and emergency nursing.
* Knowledge of aeromedical physiology and in-flight patient care principles.
* Ability to operate specialized medical equipment safely in flight.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills under high-stress conditions.
* Ability to function independently and in a team-based, deployed or austere environment.
* Understanding of medical documentation, regulatory compliance, and patient privacy (HIPAA).
* Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well
* The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
* The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level.
* The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
* The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
* Physical Requirements:
* Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
