Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
Incumbent answers all incoming telephone calls in a helpful professional manner. Incumbent ensures that all procedures for Imaging, Cardio-Diagnostics, ATU and/or Endoscopy are scheduled appropriately while assuring timeliness of the appointment. In addition the incumbent will provide scheduling services and preparation instructions to the patient or doctors office. Incumbent ensures appropriate equipment for each procedure is available and distributes surgical and ancillary schedules as appropriate
Job Standards:
* Answers telephone calls or responds to phone inquiries in a timely manner to ensure efficient departmental operations
* Ensures that all surgeries and appointments are scheduled accurately and legibly while assuring timeliness of the appointment
* Gathers acceptable diagnosis for procedures and informs offices if a diagnosis is not acceptable
* Communicates effectively with the team leaders, team members, anesthesiologist, patients, physicians and physician staff to ensure efficient departmental operations
* Produces and disseminates daily and weekly surgical and ancillary department schedules
* Verifies final schedules are complete and accurate which includes ensuring that all appropriate departments were notified of the procedure, equipment or alerts
* Confirms and checks schedules with outside offices on a daily and weekly basis
* Notifies all departments if scheduling system is going to be down for maintenance and informs them when it is available for use again
