Job Summary

This position would be located at our Auburn Arcadia location. This position will be working on-site everyday to support our Arcadia Drop-In/Shelter and Permanent Supportive Housing programs that work out of and operate out of Arcadia. Drop-In services are open to youth and young adults ages 12-24 years old everyday from 1:00pm-6:00pm. During drop in, clients have low-barrier access to basic need items: food, showers, laundry services, case management and housing navigation, and a safe space to relax during the afternoon/evening. The Arcadia Young Adult Emergency shelter is a low barrier temporary emergency shelter for those 18-24 years old who are experiencing homelessness. Clients have a 90-day maximum stay, however, this can be extended on a case by case basis. The Arcadia Emergency Shelter is able to serve clients seven days a week, 365 days a year. The street outreach team covers all cities in South King County, looking for youth and young adults ages 12-24 who may benefit from street outreach services. The outreach team travels to areas young adults congregate, spread information about available resources, and connect interested individuals to services immediately if possible/requested.

Arcadia Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) provides long-term housing with a non-time-limited stay that is affordable, and independent, paired with supportive services to help participants retain stable housing. This role supports 15 clients with disabling conditions offering individually-tailored services such as client engagement, assisting clients with housing applications, assessment of client strengths and obstacles, safety planning and assessment, individualized goal planning, linkages with community supports including behavioral health services, care coordination with other service providers, life skills-building, assistance applying for public benefits, connections with employment and training opportunities, job coaching, assistance with social support and enhancing social networks. This role also provides property-based services that coordinate on-site activities and workshops. Resident Services promote resiliency and stability through community asset building. Examples of Resident Services include employment programs, adult education programs, community safety, language access, cooking classes, budgeting workshops; classes and activities are based on resident needs. The PSH includes:

* Shared spaces with a total capacity of three clients sharing common areas, kitchen and bathroom.
* Five-unit complex, with three bedrooms and one bathroom per unit, allowing up to 15 participants at any given time.
* Four units have bedrooms with a shared common room space that varies between 731 square feet to 910 square feet.
* An ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) unit bedrooms vary between 113 and 117 square feet, with a common space of 728 square feet, no elevator on site.
* All common areas are equipped with a kitchenette and there are laundry services available on both levels for tenants to utilize.

This position is with the Y Social Impact Center, the social services division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS), serving around 5,000 youth, young adults, and families every year in communities across King County, Pierce County, and various counties across WA. Through our programs we aim to strengthen young people's ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; establishing stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center's programs include homelessness prevention, housing, behavioral health, crisis response, foster care licensing, violence prevention, and employment. Since many of the young people we serve have been involved in the foster care, criminal justice, behavioral health, and/or homelessness systems, we truly value relatable lived experience of our staff and those applying for our positions as an asset.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position with in-person, site-based work every day; no option for remote or hybrid work. Schedule will be Wednesday - Sunday, 2pm-10pm, subject to change based off of program needs and hours. This position is located in Aubrun, Washington.

Hiring Range: $27.00 - $30.00/hour

Responsibilities:

* Provides specialized services to youth and young adults in education, employment/career development, housing, technology, or other designated field and supports them in achieving their goals. Build strong relationships with Y program participants to effectively provide quality services.
* Develops individualized, strengths-based, youth-driven service plans.
* Must understand contract/grant terms and conditions to ensure program outcome requirements are met and services rendered to young adults appropriately.
* Researches best practices in field; creates and maintains specialized resource library.
* Maintains clear, professional, timely participant contact notes, service plans, progress updates, outcomes, and other documentation in designated databases.
* Teaches life skills, job readiness or other subject matter individually and/or in groups, often experientially.
* Teams effectively and collaboratively with YMCA staff and/or community partners to plan and facilitate activities, including visits to related resources in the community.
* Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with funding liaisons, other service providers, businesses and/or educational institutions as related to specialized services.
* Supports participant success in key domains such as safe and stable housing, permanent connections to supportive adults, education and employment, health and well-being, and life skills.
* May assist with program coordination or other activities related to job focus.
* Participates in YMCA annual fundraising campaign to engage community members in volunteerism and philanthropic support for the Y mission.
* Support operations staff in daily task completion including but not limited to: cooking daily meals, laundry turnover, space sanitization, data tracking, participant enrollments, mail distribution, meetings, bathroom cleaning, unit turnover, etc.
* Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are following YMCA standards concerning contracts, accreditation, and all relevant regulations and other applicable standards.
* Ensure high quality programs through innovative program development evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
* Ensure upkeep of related facilities and equipment; includes light janitorial work as needed.
* Participate in South King County On-Call rotation with other leaders which provides after hours emergency crisis support to Swing and overnight staff. On Call participation is required and is for one week, approximately every 8 weeks.
* Prepare documents and participant files for audits as needed
* Ensure regular data collection and assurance; weekly - monthly data reporting and collection is expected with this position
