This position is physically located in Iraq, Balad

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of Carpentry related systems and equipment. Trade Lead conducts Field Surveys (FS) and Initial Assessments (IA) for assigned construction projects, which include: calculation of Bill of Materials (BOM), development of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), projecting Labor Hours, provide technical approaches and preliminary Field /Technical Drawings, Project Assumptions and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Lead will also verify actual hours worked to reduce manpower expenditure, and report all faults, deficiencies, as well as time and materials expended. The Lead will ensure personnel exhibit superior workmanship and focus upon a quality end product. The Carpenter Lead is also responsible to provide status updates to management via various means to include computer-based information management systems. Lead will have direct oversight of project electricians and ensure personnel complete all tasks in accordance with the Public Works Safety Policy and Environmental, Safety & Health directives.

Responsibilities:

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

* Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to building codes.
* Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
* Provides leadership, guidance, and technical assistance to Carpentry Technicians in the performance of their day-to-day activities.
* Disseminates instructions to lower level workers on information received from supervisors and gets work started by assigning the immediate tasks to members of the Work group.
* Examines and inspects work progress and equipment, to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
* Provides appropriate skill related training to subordinates.
* Monitors and reviews information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
* Monitor and update Work Order information on CMMS (MAXIMO).
* Monitors equipment, material installation, and repairs to Carpentry equipment in accordance with applicable technical manuals.
* Oversees troubleshooting and verifies diagnoses of assigned project equipment.
* Inspects Carpentry equipment and components for correct installation, function, .and verification of system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions.
* Records and reports all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
* Ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement and applicable V2X POs and PIOPs.
* May advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
* Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
* Must be able to obtain Host Country Passenger Vehicle license

* Experience:
* Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in specified and related field. Evidence of completion of trade school and/or a minimum of two (2) years of apprenticeship training preferred.

* Skills:
* Analytical skills to be able to solve work-related problems.
* Manual dexterity for installing material, and equipment, to meet specifications.
* Must have proficient communication skills in English both written and oral.
* Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork.
* Must exercise discretion and good sound judgment.
* Must have basic computer skills.

* Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

* Physical Requirements:
* Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
* Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
