Responsibilities:
Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products.
The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood, laminates, drywall, ceiling systems and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential.
The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products.
Responsibilities
* Read blueprints, drawings and sketches
* Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
* Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
* Install windows & doors, build walls using industry approved materials or pre-constructed items
* Lay out floorings, or drywalls
* Create countertops using wood and laminates
* Repair / reface laminate surfaces
* Inspect places and conduct general repairs or maintenance
* Assist with set ups of various events and activities
* Perform general carpentry work including but not limited to woodwork and building, hanging or installing cabinets, selecting and preparing timber, board or other building products or materials, installing, repairing, maintaining or removing latches, handles and hinges.
* Perform basic lock work tasks as needed including repairs or maintenance and installation of locks, door handles, and door closures.
* Operation of and working from elevated aerial platforms
* Operation of forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
* Assist with snow removal and operation of a variety of equipment related to the task including but not limited to plow truck and spreaders, snow blowers and throwers, compact tractors, skid steer loader and hand spreaders

Requirements
* Proven experience as carpenter
* Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
* Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
* Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
* Ability to read technical documents and drawings
* Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
* Good understanding of basic math
* High school diploma or GED
* Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred
