Positions available at: Coastal Carolina Medical Center and Hilton Head Hospital
Available shifts: 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am, and rotating shifts. Holiday and weekend rotations required.
Available status: Full time, Part Time, and PRN
Care Associates are essential for ensuring patient safety for patients who require constant observation. This role acts as the 'eyes and ears' of the clinical team, maintaining a constant visual presence to ensure a safe environment while supporting the patient's dignity and immediate needs.
Responsibilities:
Duties:
* Observe patients 1:1 who need constant observation
* Use therapeutic communication techniques to calm the patient
* Note changes in the patient's mood, affect, or verbalizations and report changes to clinical staff
* Assist with other duties as needed to support the department if patient observation is not needed
Qualifications:
* Education: High School or GED, Required.
* Licensure/Certification: Completion Novant Health sponsored training program, required. Completion of Novant Health Safety Attendant training, required.
* Additional Skills Required: Upon completion of the Novant Health sponsored training program, the Care Associate works within the guidelines of nursing and Novant Health policies and procedures. Must exhibit strong communication skills; ability to write effectively; effective computer skills, and strong customer service skills.
* Additional Skills Preferred: Basic computer skills for documentation. Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR) and Safety Attendant duties may be assigned as determined by unit leaders and unit needs. If needed in the MUR role, the Care Associate must be able to perform the MUR skills as indicated in the MUR job description. If needed in the Safety attendant role, the Care Associate must complete appropriate training and be able to perform the Safety Attendant skills as indicated in the Safety Attendant job description.
