Responsibilities:

As our Cardio-Pulmonary Technician Level I, you will provide essential virtual cardiac monitoring services to CommonSpirit Health patients across the United States. This onsite position at our Phoenix, AZ Virtual Hospital involves performing remote surveillance of cardiac rhythms for multiple locations, specifically focusing on lower-acuity patients via a central monitoring station.

Every day you will diligently recognize, record, and report potentially dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias, strictly following established standards, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Working primarily in a centralized monitoring unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will leverage highly advanced IT technology to continuously monitor up to 60 patients, ensuring their safety and well-being.

To be successful in this role, you will: possess a keen eye for detail in recognizing cardiac rhythms and the ability to accurately record and report critical changes. Your adherence to established protocols and regulatory requirements, coupled with your capacity to work effectively in a centralized monitoring environment under RN supervision, is crucial. This role demands a dedicated and meticulous individual committed to patient safety through remote cardiac surveillance.

* Monitors patient's cardiac rhythms and/or oxygen saturation using appropriate cardio-pulmonary monitoring equipment
* Obtains a baseline ECG strip on all monitored patients according to department guidelines
* Records and posts cardiac strips following established procedures
* Updates and verifies patient data in the information system; maintains unit/department-specific records as assigned
* Recognizes rhythms with the potential to alter the patient's physiology and obtains a documentary ECG strip
* Immediately reports all arrhythmias to the RN responsible for the patient following established protocols

Qualifications:

Required

* Three months of post-secondary education/training in regard to EKG technology as a monitor tech AND Minimum 2 years of recent (within past year) professional work experience of any type 
* Successful completion of a Basic EKG test is required within 90 days of hire

Preferred

* Other Graduation from the following accredited program, including EKG Interpretation Monitor Technician
