Responsibilities:

Will perform all duties related to the device clinic for Virginia Mason Medical Center. This includes direct patient care, necessary reprogramming and remote device monitoring. This person will be a resource for both EP and non-EP providers and will provide education to staff and patients as directed. Will participate in 24-7 call rotation for Device Clinic patient support.

* Independently analyze device function, including review of device parameters, testing of sensing/capture thresholds for each lead, assessing lead integrity and battery status. Independently program device based on findings of above.
* Perform full interrogations and make necessary programming changes to all implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators, biventricular devices, and loop recorders from all utilized device manufacturers.
* Interpret device data and reports all pertinent clinical or device related findings to the physicians. This includes but is not limited to arrhythmia episodes, correlating these episodes with symptoms, lead functionality, and battery life.
* Accurately and thoroughly document all newly implanted devices and all device interrogations.
* Educate patients regarding appropriate follow up schedules, remote monitoring and general device information and rhythm.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. 

Two years previous experience as a Cardiovascular Technician, specifically related to analysis of transient arrhythmia monitoring, required.

Five years experience as a Cardiovascular Technician preferred.

Certified by a nationally recognized cardiology/electrophysiology organization preferred. 

Completion of specialized training in cardiovascular disease; 

Working knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and basic ECG interpretation; previous experience as a Cardiovascular Technician; 

Demonstrated literacy in the use of personal computers and Windows applications including EMR; Current BLS and ACLS
