Responsibilities:

* Perform calibrations on high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation
* Use your troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to work on unique equipment
* Help interact with customer to determine needs relating to traceability, adequacy of standards and test procedures, as well as, for items requiring repair or limited calibration
* Interface directly with customers to determine needs relating to traceability, adequacy of standards and test procedures as well as for items requiring repair or limited calibration
* Ensure that preventative maintenance of the laboratory's equipment is performed in a timely and acceptable manner,
* Managing workload distribution for the technicians within his/her sphere of influence when the Manager is not available.
* Performing daily inspections of the incoming equipment to verify accessories and manuals are available, malfunctions of customer instrumentation, and to change equipment status when appropriate

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Perform calibration work with little to no supervision
* Conduct independent research when necessary
* Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from manager
* Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques
* Maintain calibration standards
* Understand and apply uncertainties to measurements made
* Be able to read and interpret labs' scopes of accreditation
* Work effectively with lab support staff
* Working knowledge and competency in at least four (4) disciplines and expert in one (1) discipline preferred 
* Perform calibrations within a laboratory or customer on-site setting
* Work at customer on-sites with little to no direction
* Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards
* Other duties as may be assigned

Primary Objectives

* Learn and develop fundamental skills necessary to calibration techniques and processes, which includes high level production with minimal errors
* Develop team lead skills and responsibilities 
* Develop skills necessary to train and advise lower-level technicians
* Develop skills necessary to advance to Tech III position, which includes a working knowledge and competency in at least six (6) disciplines and expert in two (2) disciplines
* Strive to obtain the ASQ/CCT or CMT certification

Qualifications:

* Experience in calibrating multiple disciplines of Test & Measurement Equipment, i.e.: Electrical/Electronics - DC/low.
* Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
* Experience in communication with customer and peers, including ability to mentor or train
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications

* Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction
* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills 
* Excellent attention to detail
* Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes
* Ability to take direction and learn from feedback
* Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
* 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license and acceptable driver history

Education and Experience

Associates degree from college or technical school, or 3+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

* Three+ (3+) years of commercial calibration experience
* Previous experience or training in electronics or machining
* Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics
* Familiarity with basic hand tools
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Basic organizational and time management skills 
* Familiarity with basic hand tools
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Advanced organizational and time management skills
* Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics
* Experience working within ISO 17025 preferred. Understanding of uncertainty contributions to the measurement process
