				Overview:

CT/Xray Technologist Lead

Full Time

Muscatine, IA

Assists CT staff in the application of Computerized Tomography services. Demonstrates proficiency in performing all CT Exams, administering contrast media, and other related patient care services. Is responsible for staff orientation, ongoing educational training and competencies. 

Responsibilities:

Technical/Clinical 

* Develops and maintains policy and procedure manual
* Assists manager in the selection of new employees
* Assists manager with the annual evaluation of employees
* Performs staff orientation, education and competency evaluation
* Assists in the decision-making process of new technology/equipment
* Identifies equipment service issues and works with manager to resolve quickly and efficiently
* Serves as a subject matter expert in Computed Tomography.
* Demonstrates competency in all mammography and Bone Density exams/ procedures
* Works closely with the CT Medical Director to ensure proper protocols are adhered to.
* Resource and communication liaison for technologists, lead staff, Radiologist and manager for daily operational concerns and staffing needs.
* Assists in maintaining ACR accreditation
* Use ALARA and Dose Reducing techniques in protocols for CT exams when possible.
* Documents appropriately in the patient record
* Responsible for assisting the manager in approval of absences (PTO Approval system) and corrections to Kronos timeclock system for the staff in your area. Managers responsible for the final approval of Kronos. 
* Responsible for creating and maintaining staff schedule utilizing the Radiology schedule template.
* Require schedules a minimum of 4 weeks prior to scheduled shifts.  Lead understands and is accountable to assuring staffing needs meet patient care demands.

Patient Care

* Demonstrates competence in age-appropriate care
* Obtains appropriate history and interprets physician orders correctly
* Uses aseptic techniques and practices infection control per hospital policy
* Using appropriate lifting devices as needed
* Correctly orders, tracks and charges exams in a timely manner 

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology with equivalent training and experience as required by the licensing bodies.  

Experience: 2-3 years experience in CT

License(s)/Certification(s): ARRT (R) (CT), Iowa (IDPH) and Illinois (IEMA) Licenses
