Ringgold is a city located in Catoosa County, Georgia, situated in the northwestern part of the state, approximately 15 miles southeast of downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. It serves as the county seat of Catoosa County. Known for its historical significance, Ringgold played a notable role during the American Civil War, with several key engagements occurring in and around the area. The historic downtown district preserves much of its 19th-century charm, featuring architectural styles from that period. Today, Ringgold functions as a growing suburban community offering a blend of residential areas, local businesses, and light industry. Its strategic location along Interstate 75 provides residents with convenient access to the larger economic and cultural opportunities of Chattanooga. The city maintains a strong sense of community, supported by its local government, schools, and various civic organizations.
