Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities:
* Ensuring products meet all recipes standards
* Maintaining proper production levels
* Knowledge of all applicable food preparation methods and measures
* Knows and understands all cooking tools and measurement conversions
* Communicating and maintaining proper staffing levels with daily volume
* Insuring proper handling and storage of food items as per internal and Health Department standards
* Maintaining integrity with food and labor controls
* Has good interpersonal and communication skills
* Understanding and following all policies and procedures
* Relieving line cooks as needed
* Making recommendations in ordering supplies
* Ability to give direction, assign tasks, follow up with assigned tasks, coach for success and administer counseling of policy and procedural violations
* Wiping counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean safe working environment
* Must show skills in garde manger, broiler, sauté stations, saucier, and large quantity cooking according
* Providing personalized service and uses guests' names when possible
* Knowing and promoting current casino events and programs and can give guests directions to all casino areas
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Five years prior experience as cook in high volume food service operation
* Must be able to obtain Serve Safe certification
* Knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment
* Familiar with all phases of food preparation techniques
* Required to taste and smell foods
* Knowledge of weights, measures and recipe yield
* Possess and maintain culinary tools (knives) to perform the necessary job functions
* Read, write legibly, understand and speak English
* Excellent customer service/communication skills
* Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
* Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
* Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation
* Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues
* Able to work in constricting areas
* Must be able to tolerate areas with high temperatures
* Must be able to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing
* Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
* Must be able to maintain a neat, professional, well-groomed appearance and uphold company appearance/dress standards
* Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
