Responsibilities:

Performs work to repair and maintain compressors and mechanical equipment related to air system delivery.  Duties may involve utilizing mechanical, minor engineering and design knowledge to read drawings, apply techniques, principles, and procedures to repair and maintenance of the compressor.

Qualifications:

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

* Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools and reassemble equipment.
* Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that compressors continue to run smoothly.
* Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, follows checklists.
* Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as but not limited to hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
* Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, and machinery on compressor equipment.
* Troubleshoot, diagnose mechanical problems, and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
* Record maintenance and repair work performed on work order.
* Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, hoses, and other parts including the exterior of compressors.
* Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using necessary hand and/or power tools, hoists, etc.
* Supply own hand tools.
* To respond to emergency call outs as requested by the Government controlled Trouble Desk.
* Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.
