Overview:
Waters Longbridge are hiring! We are looking for skilled CNC machinists (CNC Grinding) to join our team in Longbridge, in our brand new state of the art facility.
The successful candidate will set-up and operate multiple CNC machines and processes in our UK machining centre of excellence based in Longbridge, Birmingham. Working with state of the art Studer S31, S33 and S131 machines and Zeiss CMM machines to produce fully conforming components to a prescribed, efficient and timely manufacturing method.

Working hours (Weekly rotation):
Monday - Thursday 0600 - 1400 (30 minute paid break)
Friday 0600 - 1300 (30 minute paid break)
Monday - Thursday 1345 - 2145 (30 minute paid break)
Friday 1245 - 1945 (30 minute paid break)
Responsibilities:
* Manufacture and inspect components to drawing specification.
* Set up and operate variety of Studer grinding machines (S31, S33, S131 and S22) and inspection equipment as per prescribed standard operating procedures.
* Monitor tool life and aid in the developing of process control by utilising pre-control & statistical process control techniques.
* In conjunction with the team leader, supervisors and manufacturing engineers adopt lean manufacturing and continuous improvement opportunities to optimise productivity.
* Compliance to good housekeeping methods and adherence to 5s to support a methodical and efficient work area.
Qualifications:
Education:
Ideally apprentice trained or equivalent proven experience in milling and turning.
Experience:
* Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role.
* Strong knowledge of machining techniques and appropriate tooling.
* Proven skills in a multi-axis/complex machining environment.
* Attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement techniques.
* Proficiency in using relevant ispection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerances.
* Experience on different Studer form grinding machines (Studer)
Competencies:
* Highly numerate team player with the ability to work to high standards and exacting targets
* Ability to manufacture and inspect to engineering drawings.
* Capable of multi-tasking and with high levels of attention to detail for both manufacture and documentation
* Project a flexible, proactive approach, coupled with the willingness to ensure outputs are achieved - working overtime as required.
