				Overview:

Join a company with a legendary heritage in high-temperature, high-performance fibrous ceramic materials. ZIRCAR Ceramics, Inc, has an immediate opening for full time employment in our Chester, NY manufacturing facility. Successful candidates will have CNC machining and programming experience and the ability to read mechanical drawings. 

Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Pay: $26 - $30 / hour

Responsibilities:

* Program, operate, and maintain the company's CNC router tables, to machine product to company or customer specifications, under limited supervision. Work is to be performed such that all applicable specifications are met, actual costs are equal to or less than standard costs, due dates are met or bettered and health and safety and environmental rules and regulations are complied with.
* Programs, operates, and monitors CNC controlled router tables.
* Extracts data from mechanical drawings, charts, tables, and other documents.
* Performs mathematical calculations.
* Conducts First Article and Final Inspection of machined components utilizing mechanical measurement tools to verify dimensions.
* Ensures machines are operating correctly and performs routine preventive maintenance and lubrication.
* Manipulates company materials including, but not limited to, Production Supplies, Raw Materials, Other Materials Purchased, Work In Process, Value Added Items and Finished Goods.
* Cleans up work areas, machines, and tooling.
* Records data regarding work performed and documents machining methodologies. 
* Recommends improved procedures and methodologies that yield continuous improvement in activities at the work centers, including but not limited to methods that increase acceptance rates of finished goods, decrease production costs, decrease production lead-time, decrease effluent pollution and improve ergonomics.

* Trains coworkers on operating and maintenance procedures, and machining methods.
* Provides verbal and written input for drafts of product reference documents including Routings (Bills of Materials), Manufacturing Process Control Work Instructions, Manufacturing Process Control Forms and equipment specific documents including Operating and Preventative Maintenance Instructions.
* Undertakes any other tasks deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Minimum two-year technical degree, apprenticeship, certificate, or equivalent job experience in the field of CNC Programming and Machining.
* Ability to perform Duties and Responsibilities of the job.
* Ability to read mechanical drawings.
* Proficiency with MULTICAM 3-Axis Router Tables and ALPHACAM Router software, or comparable. 
* 2D programming knowledge required
* 3D programming knowledge desired

* The physical requirements of this position include, but are not limited to, the ability to:
* Lift product weighing up to 80 lbs. to table height and/or shelf height (up to 6')
* Stand for extended periods of time
* Work wearing dust mask appropriate to working conditions
* Work wearing safety glasses 
* Reach with arms fully extended in any direction
* Possess full manual dexterity
* Walk to all areas of the company's facilities
* Move pallets weighing up to 500 lbs. with the use of a hand truck
* Push or pull carts loaded with product
