Overview: CHI Health St. Francis was established in Grand Island Neb. in 1887. Today our hospital is a regional referral center with more than 100 physicians and more than 1100 employees working together to build a healthier community. Our goal is to provide patients with high-quality medical care close to home where they can be supported by their family friends and community. Responsibilities: We are offering up to a $1,500 Sign-On Bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements. * Check-in with the outgoing CNA at the beginning of your shift to get a report on your patients. * Conduct hourly rounds on patients, checking vitals, maintaining whiteboard information, and assisting with care as needed. * Assist patients with ambulation as necessary. This may mean helping them reach a recliner in their room, walk to the bathroom, or down the hall. Assist released patients in getting safely to their vehicles outside. * Assist patients with hygiene needs. This can include a full bed bath, an assisted bed bath, or retrieving towels and soap for ambulatory patients. * Help the bedside nurse with tube insertions such as an NG tube, rectal tube, or catheter. You may be holding a cup of water, holding the patient, or providing the nurse with supplies as needed and cleaning up after. * Help the bedside nurse with any wound checks or dressing changes. This may mean holding the patient or supplies and cleaning up after. * Change bed linens, check patients' weight, and other tasks as assigned each day. Qualifications: * Must be at least 16 years of age * Successful Completion of the 75-hour state-approved Nursing Assistant course * Active Nurse Aide (CNA) license in good standing in Nebraska * Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
