Coastal Carolina Medical Center is looking for a CNA to join the Surgical Short Stay team!
* Schedule: Full-Time Days, 3x12 or 4x10
* Department: Same Day Surgery and PACU
* Location: Coastal Carolina Medical Center - 1000 Medical Center Dr, Hardeeville, SC 29927

* We use the da Vinci Surgical System, which allows for minimally invasive procedures through small incisions

Responsibilities:
Key duties:
* Provide Routine Patient Care: Assist patients with essential Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding, especially post-anesthesia or surgery.
* Monitor and Record Vitals: Accurately measure and document patients' vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure) at regular intervals, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
* Assist with Mobility and Transfer: Safely assist patients with ambulation (walking), transfers (bed to chair, etc.), and positioning to ensure comfort and prevent complications like skin breakdown.
* Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Ensure patient rooms are clean, stocked with necessary supplies, and that call lights are within reach, contributing to a safe and therapeutic environment.
* Pre- and Post-Operative Support: Assist the Registered Nurse (RN) with basic preparation for surgery and provide comfort and monitoring during the immediate recovery phase.
* Respond to Patient Needs: Promptly and compassionately respond to patient call lights and requests, addressing minor needs and escalating clinical issues to the RN.
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
* Experience: One year, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification: Completion of NA I and NA II programs, required. NA registry as NA I in good standing. Current NA II certification with state, required.
* Additional Skills (required): BON Health Care Provider. Medication Safety - AME
* Additional Skills (preferred): Basic computer skills for documentation.
