Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Full time - work 3 12 hour shifts and get paid for 40 hours as part of NH ANTS premium pay

Department: Cardiopulmonary

Location: Matthews Medical Center - Matthews, NC; Matthews Medical Center is an award winning 177 bed hospital with new critical care tower

Responsibilities:

* Assist RNs on cardiopulmonary team with stress tests on by taking vitals and setting up EKGs
* Conduct EKG testing in the emergency department and prepare results for physicians 
* Respond to code blue and cardiac alerts in the facility for EKG support
* Take CNA assignments within ED as assigned by charge nurse if capacity allows
* Assist with entering physician charge out data for all EKGs read during weekend shift
* Provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse

Qualifications:

* Education: High school diploma or GED required. 
* Experience: One year preferred; 1 year of acute care CNA experience is strongly preferred; cardiac experience preferred but not required; EKG experience is a plus.  
* Licensure/certification/registration: Completion of NAI program required. Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I required.  Medication Safety - AME required.  NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units required.
* Additional skills preferred: Basic computer skills for documentation.
