At St. Luke's, our Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) are an essential part of our care team-providing compassionate, patient-centered support while helping ensure a smooth and welcoming clinic experience.
Join our Mountain Home Urgent Care team, where you'll support a high-volume, fast-paced clinic serving our community seven days a week from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m.
In this role, you will work alongside a variety of providers and collaborate with a team that includes three Medical Assistants and an RN using a team-care model. Patient volumes can be up to 100 per day, offering a dynamic environment where strong communication, flexibility, and self-direction are essential. Qualifications
Education
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Graduation from a Medical Assistant program
Experience
* 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant; urgent care or high-volume clinic experience preferred
Certifications
* Current BLS-CPR Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
* Current recognized national Medical Assistant certification from one of the following: NCCT, NAHP, AMT, AAMA, AMCA, or NHA
Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant 2 is responsible for assisting licensed providers with patient care. Has working knowledge and skills developed through formal training. Works within established policies and procedures.
* Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
* Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Sterilizes, cleans, and performs checks on medical equipment.
* Prepares patients for examination.
* Provides technical, clinical, and clerical support to licensed independent provider.
* Performs medical procedures within scope of roles and responsibilities.
* Processes prescription medication for refill under the supervision of a licensed independent provider.
* Assists licensed independent provider in patient exams and office procedures.
* Prepares basic laboratory tests on premises and prepares laboratory specimens.
* Enters diagnostic or medication orders under the direction of a licensed independent provider.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Experience: 0 years' experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current recognized National Certification as a Medical Assistant and Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross.
