Responsibilities:
In keeping with the Dignity Health healthcare philosophy, the Ultrasound Technologist performs cardiovascular procedures at a technically proficient level. Positions and instructs the patient, operates ultrasound equipment and determines the technical factors for ultrasound procedures. Ensures correct marking/labeling of images, provide and confirm proper/adequate documentation of procedures to assist in diagnosis. Technically proficient in a variety of ultrasound procedures. Ability to train staff members to perform procedures requiring independent judgement. Position requires ingenuity and initiative for the diagnosis and therapy of disease.
Qualifications:
* Three (3) years recent acute care experience performing Cardiovascular Ultrasound procedures,
* Working in acute care setting performing such jobs as cardiac echos, TEEs, cardiovascular stress tests, and vascular studies.
* Familiar with PAC's systems including Xcellera. and Cerner preferred.
* Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
* Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures.
* Must also know departmental protocols and procedures.
* Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians and the patient population.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.
* Current registered or registry eligible (i.e. RDCS and/or RVT), ECE to maintain certification, current BLS CPR card.
