Overview: Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an AutoCAD/Civil 3D Designer to join our San Antonio, Texas team. The CADD Designer will work closely with engineers to perform high-level design work in addition to drafting and project-related tasks on assigned projects. Responsibilities: * Prepare and detail plans by analyzing sketches, notes, and other input material to determine the best approach to completing the drawings. * Work from sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays, and isometric drawings, including digital terrain models and surfaces. * Calculate quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates. * Perform high-level design computations and earthwork calculations and prepare complete construction plans. * Determine and calculate stormwater drainage areas and steep slope areas. * Prepare concept layout plans. * Perform grading, utility, stormwater, and soil erosion/sediment control design. * Conform to the company's standard CADD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout. * Work with numerous project teams to help complete projects. * Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets. * Prepare project exhibits. * Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased. * Prepare CAD files for authorized media release to external parties / agencies. Qualifications: * High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associate's Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD. * 5+ years experience. * Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, associated plug-ins such as Vehicular Tracking, and other related software. * Demonstrate general computer skills, knowledge, and acumen (i.e., familiarity with Microsoft Office, etc.). * Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
