Responsibilities:

As a CAD Phase Manager, you will lead our CAD production team and ensure high-quality deliverables for land surveying, subsurface utility engineering, and other geospatial projects. This role is responsible for managing CAD workflows, maintaining standards, mentoring CAD technicians, and collaborating closely with project managers and field crews. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in CAD drafting within the AEC space, leadership experience, and a passion for process improvement.

*  Oversee the processing of field data and ensure quality and consistency in all CAD deliverables
* Develop and enforce CAD standards, templates, and best practices across the survey team
* Lead and manage the CAD production team, assigning tasks and providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback
* Coordinate closely with Project Managers to align production timelines and deliverables with client expectations
* Provide quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) reviews of survey deliverables, including plats, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings
* Support field crews by providing technical guidance, pre-briefings, and debriefings to align office and field operations
* Monitor productivity and accuracy of CAD work, implementing process improvements where necessary
* Conduct deed research, deed plotting, and mapping reviews to support boundary and topographic surveys
* Train new and existing staff in CAD tools, workflows, and industry standards
* Participate in technology and software evaluations to enhance departmental capabilities

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience in the AEC industry, CAD production, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
* Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-relevant software (e.g., MicroStation, Bluebeam, Trimble Business Center)
* Strong understanding of land surveying principles, construction plans, and legal documentation
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
* Familiarity with state and local AEC regulations and standards
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field preferred
* Professional certification (e.g., CST, LSIT) is a plus
