				Overview:

Join Selux as a Buyer on our Purchasing team.  Responsible for acquiring materials, supplies and services and placing purchase orders or internal jobs for goods. Coordinates purchasing activities with other departments to maintain inventory at planned levels.  Reviews opportunities for new supply sources and suitability of materials offered. 

Salary: $50,000 - $75,000

Monday - Thurs 7:30 - 5, Fri 7:30 - 11:30

Responsibilities:

* Review MRP schedules.
* Source and quote new items as listed on schedule. Review and final supplier selection done by Purchasing Supervisor. Coordinate with internal Machine Shop to have BOMs/routings created/revised for parts produced internally.
* Process PO's based on determined purchasing limit and obtain approval on PO's over determined limit.
* Enter new PO's or internal jobs based on MRP schedule, Job Material Changes (JMC), Engineering change notices (ECN) and adjustments to inventory.
* Assist in expediting of PO's and internal jobs in shop as needed based on the Master schedule.
* Manage the quotation of new parts and assemblies for production and engineering prototypes. Review and final supplier selection done by Supervisor.
* Work with Supervisor on negotiating lower landed costs and/or lower lead times with both foreign and domestic suppliers.
* Work with Supervisor to search for, evaluate and select new suppliers with better lead times, pricing and quality. 
* Create and maintain system(s) to monitor inventory levels on key components outside the MRP system (LED boards, bonded stocks, inventory builds, etc) 
* Actively participate in process improvement projects.
* Promote and enforce proper purchasing ethics.
* Provide data for key metrics as defined by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 2 years work experience as a Buyer/Planner in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with MRP
* Strong Excel skills (detailed spreadsheets, V- Look ups, pivot tables)
* Due to the importance of maintaining relationships with suppliers, must have excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and be comfortable communicating with all.
* Analytical, detail oriented, organized and strong follow-up/closure
* Work independently as well as cohesively in a team oriented environment
* Strong team player and able to work well independently and under constant deadlines and manufacturing goals. 
* Knowledge of import regulations (freight, customs, duties, etc) a plus
* Willingness to continue education to update knowledge.
