				Overview:
The MRP Buyer is responsible for planning and purchasing raw materials, components, and supplies based on the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to support production and ensure on-time delivery. This position ensures optimal inventory levels, supplier performance, and cost control while maintaining compliance with company policies and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze MRP reports to determine material requirements and purchasing priorities.
* Place purchase orders for raw materials, components, and indirect items according to production schedules.
* Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and avoid production interruptions.
* Maintain optimal inventory levels to support manufacturing operations and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
* Communicate with suppliers to confirm lead times, pricing, and order status.
* Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure material availability.
* Resolve supply issues, delays, and discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and internal departments.
* Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
* Track supplier performance including delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
* Maintain accurate and updated information in ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar).
* Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
* Participate in inventory cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
* 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or planning within a manufacturing environment (maquiladora preferred).
* Strong knowledge of MRP and ERP systems.
* Understanding of inventory control, production planning, and supply chain processes.
* Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
