				Overview:
This position ensures material availability, inventory optimization, supplier performance, and timely procurement while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Mains Responsibilities:
* Execute MRP planning activities to ensure timely material availability for production.
* Analyze demand requirements, inventory levels, forecasts, and production schedules.
* Generate and release purchase orders based on system requirements and operational needs.
* Monitor supplier performance regarding delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
* Follow up on open purchase orders and expedite materials when necessary.
* Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics teams to avoid material shortages.
* Maintain accurate planning parameters, lead times, safety stock levels, and supplier information within ERP/MRP systems.
* Support inventory control initiatives to minimize excess and obsolete materials.
* Participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement projects.
* Analyze shortages, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
* Prepare reports related to inventory, supplier performance, and purchasing metrics.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and environmental/safety requirements.
* Support audits and documentation requirements related to Purchasing and Supply Chain activities.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
* 2  years of experience in Purchasing, MRP Planning, or Supply Chain within a manufacturing/maquiladora environment.
* Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of inventory control and material planning processes.
* Experience working with suppliers and managing purchase orders.
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
* Understanding of import/export processes and supplier logistics.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
