About the Role
The Business Intelligence Designer works in partnership with Data & Analytics teammates and IT to define and maintain the best practice standards to support the development of effective, cohesive, user-friendly business intelligence and data insights products. Well-versed in design, user experience standards, and data visualization and story-telling, the BI Designer creates prototypes and templates for concise and professional products for various audience types including business operators, analysts, and executives.
This position reports to our Corporate Headquarters in St. Louis but for the right candidate is available for remote work.

Responsibilities:
* Create a variety of digital design work products, including user interface designs, interactive build specifications, sitemaps, wireframes/templates, and style guides.
* Apply professional design principles to the creation of Power BI reports & dashboards, and presentation visualizations (including minimizing visualization bias, incorporating accessibility into designs, optimizing user experience through effective design, and validating that interactive visuals perform as expected in an operational setting).
* Support rapid prototyping in partnership with analytics and reporting teammates and business operators
* Design innovative layouts for dashboards.
* Develop a deep understanding of the data our business generates and define the best visualizations for our business metrics to deliver insights
* Recommend visual reporting solutions/strategies to meet the business needs
* Keep current on visualization tool releases to understand what new features are available

Qualifications:
Minimum:
* Bachelor's Degree in Graphic design, computer science or data analysis with specialization in UX, interactive design, data storytelling, or similar
* Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
* Must have three or more years of relevant BI software design experience, preferably with Power BI
* Must have one or more years of relevant data analysis or reporting experience
Preferred:
* Experience with production reporting tools such as SSRS, SAS, and/or Excel
* Experience coding in Python, R, or SQL
